CAL FIRE Healthy Forests and Wildfire Prevention Outcomes
Starting in 2019, the Legislature committed about $1 billion over five years to CAL FIRE to advance the state's wildfire prevention and forest health efforts. CAL FIRE wrote a report to the Legislature detailing the outcomes of the projects implemented with this investment. The results show that these projects are making forests healthier and reducing the risk of catastrophic, high-severity wildfire. They are making communities safer. They are protecting watersheds and wildlife habitat, reducing pollution, and creating economic opportunities. This Storymap summarizes highlights from the report.
